The Blue Devils and Pioneers will meet for the first time this season. Central split with SHU last season with a win at home and a loss on the road. They will match up again on Feb. 24 at the Detrick Gym.

Central Connecticut (6-16, 4-5) is back on the bus for a short trip to face their first in-state road opponent. The Blue Devils meet top-seeded Sacred Heart (14-9, 8-1 NEC) for the first time this season on Friday.
- The Blue Devils are coming off a 78-71 home victory vs Merrimack with Samora Watson's 35 points being the difference maker. Sacred Heart is coming off a 73-55 rout vs Le Moyne last Saturday in front of the Pioneer faithful.

- Central Connecticut ranks third in scoring offense in the NEC (57.7) and their defense gives up 59.9 points in conference games (4th in NEC). The Blue Devils shoot 77% to rank first in the NEC and 38th in the country in free throw percentage.
- Sacred Heart is the #1 ranked offense in the league averaging 64.2 points a game and 72 points in conference play. They are the number one ranked defense in regular season and conference play.
- Samora Watson and Ny'Ceara Pryor have gone back and forth for leading scorers in the NEC all season. Watson stands as the leader with 18.7 (18.1 NEC) points per game compared to Pryor's 18.2 (17.4 NEC).
- Alonna Sellers made her first start for the Blue Devils this season. She added seven rebounds, two assists, a steal, and a block in 16 minutes of play.
- Amaya Williams added 10 points with two threes that helped The Blue Devils hit a season-high 7 three-pointers in their last game.
- Samora Watson was named the NEC Player of the Week for the third time last week for her monstrous week. Just one other player in the nation has more 35-plus-point games than Watson, as Iowa senior Caitlin Clark has accomplished the feat 10 times. In addition, six of the league's nine best offensive performances have been produced by Watson, as she also has a 28-point outing and a pair of 27-point efforts to her name this season.
