- Central Connecticut trailed 7-2 2:32 into the first quarter. Key stops led to quick offense for the Blue Devils as they went on a 15-2 run to end the quarter to lead 17-9 after the first stanza.
- CCSU picked up where they left off and opened the second quarter with two steals and two baskets from Ally Sentace and Samora Watson gave Central an early 19-9 lead in the quarter.
- Three-pointers from Ally Sentence and Meghan Kenefick in the second quarter helped Central build on to their lead and CCSU went into the locker room with a 31-21 lead.
