CCSU Defeats Colgate on 'Kids Day Out'
The Central Connecticut Women's Basketball Team captured their second victory of the season with a 69-54 win over the Colgate Raiders Wednesday morning at the Detrick gym.

- Central Connecticut trailed 7-2 2:32 into the first quarter. Key stops led to quick offense for the Blue Devils as they went on a 15-2 run to end the quarter to lead 17-9 after the first stanza.
- CCSU picked up where they left off and opened the second quarter with two steals and two baskets from Ally Sentace and Samora Watson gave Central an early 19-9 lead in the quarter.
- Three-pointers from Ally Sentence and Meghan Kenefick in the second quarter helped Central build on to their lead and CCSU went into the locker room with a 31-21 lead.
- Meghan Kenefick opened the quarter with two baskets to give the Blue Devils an early 35-21 lead 0:54 minutes into the third.
- CCSU ended the third quarter leading the Raiders 51-34 and shot 10-of-17 from FG range.
- Colgate cut Central's lead to 61-50 with 2:17 left to go in the final frame, but a charge drawn by Belle Lanpher and a layup on the other end for the Blue Devils put the game out of reach. CCSU took home the victory with a final score of 69 to 54.
