Six Home Basketball Games Set For January
The Blue Devils men's and women's basketball teams host three NEC foes this month
The Central Connecticut State men's and women's basketball teams begin the home portion of the Northeast Conference schedule this week. Both squads host three NEC opponents at Kaiser Hall during the month of January, with plenty of entertainment for all.
The women's basketball team plays its NEC opener on Monday, January 8th at 4:00 pm on Boys and Girls Club Day. The first 50 youth fans at the game on Monday will receive Blue Devil lighted horns.
The women are home five days later for Local Heroes Day on January 13th. The first 75 fans in attendance will receive free popcorn at the 1:00 pm game versus Saint Francis.
The men's squad has its league home opener on MLK Day, January 15th. The 4:00 pm game versus Merrimack is presented by Achieve Financial Credit Union and will feature a pom pom giveaway to the first 100 fans.
The Blue Devils welcome students back to campus with two home games the weekend of January 19th. The men host Le Moyne at 7pm on January 19th that will be highlighted by a halftime youth dance clinic performance.
Sunday, January 21st the women's team will host LIU at 1:00 pm in a game that is being televised on ESPN+ and the YES Network. The game is the culmination of the annual NGWSD Celebration, presented by Eversource. Before the game, girls in kindergarten through sixth grade are invited to attend a free sports clinic. The first 100 participants in that event will receive a free t-shirt compliments of CCSU and Eversource. For more information, click here.
The month wraps up with a men's game on January 27th for the annual Coaches Versus Cancer Game and Alumni Day. The 1:00 pm game versus Wagner is presented by Hartford Healthcare.
