Baseball Tops Dartmouth at RussMatt Invitational
The Central Connecticut baseball team opened its trip to Florida in the RussMatt Invitational with an 8-2 win over Dartmouth on Thursday at Lake Myrtle Park in Auburndale, FL.
The Blue Devils will play a doubleheader on Saturday when they face Dartmouth and Bradley.

KEY MOMENTS
- The Blue Devils opened the scoring in the bottom of the second after freshman Aidan Redahan and junior Dylan Sanchez hit back-to-back one-out doubles to make it 1-0. Sophomore Elliot Good followed with a single before sophomore Hunter Pasqualini hit a sac fly to plate Sanchez and make it 2-0.
- CCSU added to its lead with a run in the fifth. Pasqualini tripled with one out and would score on a single by senior Jay Devito to make it 2-0.
- Central broke the game open with three runs in the sixth. Sophomore Michael Torniero led off with a single and moved to second on a sacrifice. Good followed with a double to plate two runs before scoring on a double by Pasqualini to make it 6-0.
- In the seventh, Redahan would hit an RBI-single and Pasqualini drew a bases loaded walk to push the lead to 8-0.
- Dartmouth drew a pair of one-out walks in the eighth, before Kade Kretzschmar doubled to drive in two runs and close out the scoring.
NOTES
- CCSU knocked out 10 hits in the game with Pasqualini, Redahan and Good each collecting two hits.
- Spizzuocco tossed 5.2 innings of shutout ball. He scattered five hits and struck out two.
