Central Faces Florida Gulf Coast Tuesday Night
CCSU looks to earn its first win of the season against FCGU.
The Central Connecticut women's basketball team plays its second game in the sunshine state at Florida Gulf Coast on Tuesday night inside Alco Arena in Fort Myers, Fla. The Blue Devils recently dropped a 72-54 decision at FAU on Sunday. Junior Emma McCamus led Central with 12 points, her fourth double-digit game of the season.
CCSU looks to snap a nine-game skid and earn its first win of the season, while FGCU looks for its seventh straight win and stay undefeated at home. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. and the game will be streamed live on ESPN+.

Last Time Out • The Blue Devils fell to FAU 72-54 on Sunday. Emma McCamus got Central off to a hot start scoring 10 of the 18 first quarter points and CCSU went into the halftime break with a one-point lead. Heading into the final quarter trailing by four, the Owls outscored Central 22-8 to take the win.
Series History with the Eagles • This is the second meeting between the Eagles and Blue Devils with FCGU leading the series 1-0. The teams last faced each other in the 2007-08 season with FCGU winning 71-52.
Most Recent for FGCU • The Eagles are coming off a week break last defeating Florida Memorial 91-47 on Dec. 9. Five players scored double-figures led by Ashili O'Neal (15 pts). The win marked the seventh straight for FCGU keeping them a perfect 4-0 at home.
With A Win... • CCSU would earn its first win of the season...It would be the 150th career win for head coach Beryl Piper...Central would snap FGCU's seven game winning streak and give them their first loss at home this season.
