Blue Devils Start Four-Game Road Series at UNH Sunday
Tip-off is scheduled for 1 p.m.
The Central Connecticut women's basketball team closes the year with a four-game road series starting at New Hampshire on Sunday, Dec. 8. The team will take on the Wildcats at 1 p.m. inside the Lundholm Gymnasium in Durham, N.H. Central is still looking for its first win of the season and UNH looks to snap a three-game skid.
Junior Ashley Berube is coming off a double-double performance against UMass Lowell. The center posted 19 points and 10 rebounds shooting 7-11 from the floor and 5-7 from the charity stripe. Classmate Ashley Forker dished a career-high 10 assists putting her tied for ninth in the record books for single-game assists. Sophomore Danielle Delano scored a career-high 11 points shooting 3-7 from behind the arc.

Last Time Out • The Blue Devils fell to UMass Lowell by just one basket on Thursday night. Central led by five points and halftime and opened the third quarter on a 10-2 run, but full court pressure by the River Hawks forced 12 second half turnovers by the Blue Devils. UMass Lowell tied the game at 44 with 4:41 left in the game. The teams traded baskets and trailing by two Berube finished a layup to tie the game again with 12.4 seconds left. An elbow jumpshot by the River Hawks with less than two seconds on the clock gave them the 56-54 advantage for the win.
Series History with the Wildcats • This game marks the 21st meeting between the Blue Devils and the Wildcats. The Blue Devils hold an 11-9 advantage in the overall series. CCSU won the last matchup 56-47 last season.
Most Recent for UNH • Trailing by 15 in the fourth quarter, UNH went on a 26-9 run to trail by just one point with four seconds left against Massachusetts. After a missed UMass freethrow the team couldn't get a shot off to tie the game and fell 67-65. Ashley Storley led the Wildcats with 23 points.
With A Win... • CCSU would earn its first win of the season and would mark the 150th career win for head coach Beryl Piper...Central would extend the winning streak against UNH to two games...It would be the 12th win for the program against the Wildcats.
