Central Welcomes UMass Lowell Thursday Night
Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m.
The Central Connecticut women's basketball team hosts UMass Lowell for its third home contest of the season on Thursday night. It will be the final home game of the calendar year for the Blue Devils. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. inside Detrick Gymnasium and the game will be streamed live on NEC Front Row.
CCSU enters the contest at 0-6 still searching for its first win of the season. The River Hawks look to win its second straight after beating Bryant 55-35 Monday night.

Last Time Out • CCSU recently dropped a 73-63 decision to Albany on Sunday. The Blue Devils led the entire first half but a 14-0 run by the Great Danes shifted the momentum of the game. Ashley Forker beat the buzzer with a shot beyond halfcourt to tie the game 45-45 heading into the final 10 minutes of play. Albany scored 28 points in the fourth quarter to pull out the win. Ashley Berube finished with an impressive statline just two rebounds shy of a double-double (12pts, 8reb, 6ast, 4blks). Senior Bruna Vila Artigues matched her career-high with 13 points.
Series History with the River Hawks • The game marks the third meeting between the Blue Devils and River Hawks. Central leads the series 2-0 and last faced UMass Lowell in the 2015-16 season (W, 64-53). The River Hawks enter the contest 1-7 on the year as Central looks for its first win.
Most Recent for UMass Lowell • UMass Lowell earned its first win of the season with a 55-35 win over Bryant. After trailing 20-7 at the end of the opening quarter, Lowell held the Bulldogs to just 15 points for the rest of the game to take the win. Bryant did not score a single point in the fourth quarter. Three players scored double-figures for the River Hawks led by Kharis Idom (15pts, 6rebs).
With A Win... • CCSU would earn its first win of the season and would mark the 150th career win for head coach Beryl Piper...Central would stay undefeated against UMass Lowell...It would be the third straight win against the River Hawks for the Blue Devils.
