Pioneers Slip Past Central 54-52 Monday
The Blue Devils face Robert Morris on Saturday at 4 p.m.
The Central Connecticut women's basketball team fell to Sacred Heart 54-52 on Monday night in Detrick Gymnasium.
Tied at 52 with 1:02 to play, the Blue Devils forced a shot clock violation and took the ball with 32.9 seconds left. Sophomore Forever Toppin had a open shot at the rim, but came up short allowing SHU to have the final possession with 3.9 to play. Jayla Davis drove straight to the basket and finished at the rim with .6 seconds left on the clock giving the Pioneers the win.
The Blue Devils fall to 2-18 on the year and 1-8 in conference, while Sacred Heart improves to 8-11 and 5-3 in league.
