Women's Hoops Continue on the Road at Mount St. Mary's
Tip-off is scheduled for 1 p.m on Saturday.
The Central Connecticut women's basketball team continues on the road to Mount St. Mary's on Saturday, Jan. 18 in Emmitsburg, MD. The game will be played in Knott Arena at 1 p.m. and will be streamed live on NEC Front Row. The men's basketball team takes on the Mountaineers following the women at 4 p.m.
The Blue Devils are still on the hunt for their first win in conference play. The team recently dropped a heartbreaker at LIU (63-61), while Merrimack snapped a four-game win streak for the Mount giving them their first NEC loss of the season.

Last Time Out • Trailing by six with 3:30 to play, Ashley Forker hit two free throws to cut the lead to four, but the Blue Devils wen 2-7 from the floor in the closing minutes falling to LIU 63-61. Despite outscoring the Sharks 11-7 in the final quarter, a third quarter push put LIU up 10 and the Blue Devils struggled offensively to come back. Forker and Ashley Berube each scored 16 points and grabbed eight rebounds.
Series History with the Mountaineers • This is the 41st meeting between Central and MSM. The Mountaineers lead the overall series 29-12 and have won the past five matchups against the Blue Devils. Central's last victory against the Mount was January 9, 2017 (68-58).
Most Recent for the Mount • Merrimack gave the Mount its first loss of conference play 76-55 on Monday. The Warriors totaled 48 points in the second and third quarters and shot 50.0 percent from the floor. The Mountaineers struggled offensively shooting just 26.0 percent on the game.
Berube Breaks into the Books • Junior Ashley Berube is currently leading the conference in shooting percentage (.500), second in blocked shots (35) and is seventh in rebounding with 7.2 per game. At Sacred Heart (Jan. 8) she grabbed a career-high 18 rebounds putting her tied for fifth in the program history for most rebounds in a single-game. Against Hartford (Dec. 21) she dropped 25 points, just two points shy of beating her career-high. She has two double-doubles on the season and has scored 20+ points twice so far this year.
Focus on Forker • Ashley Forker is the teams third leading scorer at 9.8 points per game. In the NEC, she is fifth in assists (3.5 apg), seventh in assists/turnover ratio (1.5) and tied for 13 in steals (22). She has scored double-digits in eight games and recorded two double-doubles. Against UMass Lowell she dished 10 assists, putting her tied for 10th in the record books for assists in a single-game.
With a Win... • The Blue Devils would earn its second win of the season and first NEC victory...Central would snap a five game skid on the year and against the Mountaineers...CCSU would give MSM is second straight loss putting them at 3-2 in league play.
