Blue Devils Travel to Robert Morris Saturday
Central starts a three-game road series at RMU.
The Central connecticut women's basketball team heads back on the road for a three-game series starting in Moon Township, PA to face Robert Morris on Saturday, Feb. 1. Tip-off is scheduled for 4 p.m. and is the second game of a double-header. The men's team takes on the Colonials first starting at 1 p.m. Both games will be streamed live on NEC Front Row.

Last Time Out • Central lost in a heartbreaker to Sacred Heart, 54-52 on Monday night. The game was tied with 3.6 seconds left and Jayla Davis scored leaving Central just .6 seconds left on the clock. Ashley Berube was two rebounds shy of a double-double (13 pts, 8 rebs) and Emma McCamus scored a dozen for the Blue Devils.
Earlier This Season • In the NEC opener, Robert Morris defeated Central 86-56. RMU dominated inside with 37 points and 15 rebounds coming from its two centers. Central struggled offensively having 27 turnovers and just 16 made field goals.
Most Recent for the Colonials • The Colonials rolled past St. Francis Brooklyn 70-59 to remain a perfect 8-0 in league play. The team shot just under 50 percent (48.3) from the floor, including 34.8 percent from behind the arc.
Berube Breaks the Books • Junior Ashley Berube has posted double-figures in the past 11 straight games. She has scored 20+ points three times this season, most recently at Fairleigh Dickinson (23). Earlier this season against RMU, she scored 12 points on 4-6 (.667) shooting from the floor and a perfect 4-4 from the foul line. The center leads the NEC in field goal percentage (.500) and has made 108 field goals so far this season scoring 275 points, surpassing her end total from her sophomore season (269). Berube has already posted her name in the CCSU record books. She is tied for fifth in single-game rebounds (18), fourth and sixth for single-season blocked shots, and second in career blocks (138). She is 62 blocks away from being the first for most career blocked shots.
Central Knocks them Down • The Blue Devils are second in the NEC in free throw percentage sitting at .743 percent. The team is 249-335 for foul shots. Against Wagner, the team shot a season-high 94.7 percent from the line, going 18-19. In nine games the team has shot 80 percent or better from the charity stripe. Currently, seven players are shooting 75 percent or better from the foul line.
With a Win... • Central would be the first NEC team to defeat RMU...CCSU would snap a nine-game skid against the Colonials and win for the first time since the 2015-16 season...The Blue Devils would earn a season split with RMU and push to 2-8 in league play.
