The Central Connecticut women's basketball team faces in-state conference rival Sacred Heart on Wednesday, Jan. 8 in Fairfield, CT in the Pitt Center. Tip-off is scheduled for 1 p.m. and the game will be streamed live on NEC Front Row. The Blue Devils look to earn its first conference win and snap a two game win streak for the Pioneers, who sit at a perfect 2-0 in league play.

Last Time Out • Central hosted Saint Francis U on Saturday and fell 64-52. The team trailed by just three points at the end of the third, but SFU went on a 12-4 run at the start of the final quarter to extend the lead back to double-digits. Tiffany Slicklein finished with a season-high nine points and eight rebounds for Central.
Series History with the Pioneers • This marks the 53rd match-up between the Blue Devils and Pioneers with SHU leading the overall series 33-19. The Pioneers swept Central in both games last season, while CCSU won both games the year before (2017-18). In the last six meetings the teams are an even 3-3.
Most Recent for SHU • Sitting at a 10-point third quarter deficit, SHU surged past Wagner, outscoring the Seahawks 30-12 in the fourth quarter to record a 14-point win, 79-65 to earn its second NEC victory.
