Snoddy Named NEC Rookie of the Week
Freshman Andre Snoddy of the Central Connecticut men's basketball squad was named Northeast Conference Rookie of the Week on Tuesday. Snoddy earned the honor for the league-best fourth time this season.
Snoddy the Rookie of the Week honor for the third time in four weeks. He averaged 10.0 ppg, 9.5 rpg, 3.0 assists and 2.0 steals last week, while shooting.467 from the field and 6-of-7 (.857) from the foul line. In the win over LIU on Thursday he finished with six points and a team-high nine rebounds, while adding a career-high four assists with two steals and no turnovers in 32 minutes. He hit a pair of foul shots to give CCSU its first lead of the night at 46-45. On Saturday, he posted his second double-double of the season with 14 points and 10 rebounds at FDU. He chipped in two assists and two steals.
Snoddy ranks eigth in the league and is the top freshman, grabbing 6.9 rebounds per game. He ranks 14th with a 48.1 field goal percentage and averages 7.5 points per game.
The Blue Devils return to Detrick Gymnasium on Thursday to host first-place Wagner. CCSU will announce this week's attendance policies for home contests.
