Brown Earns NEC Men's Basketball Rookie of the Week
Central Connecticut men's basketball freshman Jayden Brown was recognized as the Northeast Conference Men's Basketball Rookie of the Week it was announced by the league on Monday. Brown claimed his second NEC Rookie of the Week honor and the fourth such accolade in five weeks for the Blue Devils following his performance at Providence on Saturday.
Playing in his hometown, he finished one off his career-high with nine points and added six rebounds, one assist, one steal and one block in 27 minutes. He also drained his first career three-pointer. Over the first six games of his career, Brown has averaged 6.8 ppg and 4.5 rpg, and converted at a 48.7 percent clip from the field. Teammates Andre Snoddy and Joe Ostrowsky previously earned Rookie honors for CCSU.
CCSU travels to Stony Brook on Tuesday night.
