Ostrowsky Named NEC Men's Basketball Rookie of the Week
Central Connecticut men's basketball freshman Joe Ostrowsky was recognized as the Northeast Conference Men's Basketball Rookie of the Week it was announced by the league on Monday. Ostrowsky shot averaged 8.5 points per game in the Blue Devils' opening weekend of action.
Ostrowsky supplied instant offense off the bench in his first two games in a Blue Devil uniform, averaging 8.5 ppg on 66.7% shooting from the floor and 60.0% from distance. He scored 12 points at UConn in his debut, shooting 4-of-6 from the field and 2-of-4 on three-pointers. In Sunday's game at Brown he scored five points, while grabbing four rebounds. He shot 2-of-3 from the field. Ostrowsky averaged 19.0 minutes per game coming off the bench.
CCSU is back in action on Tuesday at the Basketball Hall of Fame Showcase at Mohegan Sun Arena. The Blue Devils will play NC State before squaring off against UMass Lowell on Wednesday. Tickets are available HERE and the games will be available on FloSports.
