Men's Basketball Slumps at FDU in Sunday Setback
The Central Connecticut men's basketball fell, 75-55, at FDU on Sunday afternoon in Northeast Conference action at the Rothman Center. The Knights hit 10 three-pointers and shot 50 percent from the field, while limiting the Blue Devils to just three trifectas and 35 percent shooting overall.
Freshman Andre Snoddy had 14 points and 10 rebounds to lead CCSU. Junior Nigel Scantlebury added 12 points. Central shot 17-of-48 (.354) overall and went 3-of-19 (.158) on three-pointers. The Blue Devils went 18-of-24 (.750) at the foul line.
Brandon Rush and John Square had 16 points each to lead FDU. The Knights shot 31-of-61 (.508) overall and 10-of-22 (.455) from three-point range. FDU was 3-of-10 (.300) from the foul line.

KEY MOMENTS
- The Knights would hold the Blue Devils scoreless from the field and used a 5-1 run to build a six-point lead just over midway through the first half. FDU would push the lead to 31-19 following a three-pointer by Devon Dunn to punctuate a 7-0 run just before the intermission. Senion Nigel Scantlebury found sophomore Arian Dehnavi underneath for a dunk to end the run, but a three-point play by the Knights got a putback to make it 33-21 at halftime.
- Central would get within 11 early in the second half, but was unable to get the deficit within single digits. CCSU would endure a 1-of-6 shooting stretch and the Knights were able to stretch the lead to 52-36 following a stepback jumper by Dunn. Freshman Joe Ostrowsky hit a three-pointer with 9:34 to play to get the Blue Devils within 53-39.
- The Knights would pull away from there and a 9-0 run capped by an alley-oop from Dunn to Brandon Rush made it 69-44 with 3:52 to play. FDU made 7-of-8 from the field to close the game, while Ostrowsky hit a three-pointer with 15 seconds remaining to close out the scoring.

- FDU holds a 29-21 edge in the all-time series.
- Snoddy posted his second double-double of the season and was 4-of-10 from the field. It was his 16th game of the year with at least five rebounds. He added two assists and two steals.
- Centrall committed 16 turnovers and had just eight assists.
- In the previous two games, CCSU had shot 15-of-36 (.417) from three-point range as a team.
- Senior Ian Krishnan finished the game with five points. He has 993 career points and 188 career three-pointers, which ranks third and second among active NEC players, respectively. He ranks 8th on the CCSU career three-pointer chart.
- The game was orginally scheduled to be played Saturday, but was moved back a day due to the winter storm in the Northeast.
