Men's Basketball Stumbles at UNH on Saturday
The Central Connecticut men's basketball fell at New Hampshire, 67-45, on Saturday at Lundholm Gym in Durham, NH. The Wildcats led throughout the contest and built a double-digit lead in the first half that it would maintain throughout the second half.
Junior Nigel Scantlebury was the only Blue Devil to score in double figures, scoring 15 points. Central shot just 16-of-51 (.314) overall and were 4-of-23 (.174) from three-point range and 9-of-14 (.643) at the foul line.
Blondeau Tchoukuiegno led the Wildcats with 20 points on 7-of-11 shooting. UNH had four scorers in double-figures and shot 24-of-58 (.414) from the field. New Hampshire was 9-of-31 (.290) from the arc and 10-of-17 (.588) at the foul line, but outrebounded Central, 48-26.

KEY MOMENTS
- CCSU opened the game 0-for-7 from the field and committed six fouls in the opening three minutes as UNH built a 12-2 lead to open the game. Central would recover by holding the Wildcats scoreless for over six minutes on the defensive end, while scoring 11 unanswered to get within 14-13 midway through the half.
- The Wildcats would respond with 11 straight points as part of a 17-4 lead over a six-minute span and would build a 31-15 lead with 3:04 left in the opening half. UNH would close the period closing seven straight points before Scantlebury hit a three-pointer as time expired to make it 40-23 at the intermission.
- Junior Ian Krishnan would convert a four-point play midway through the second half to make it 50-39, but the Blue Devils would not be able to cut the deficit to single digits. UNH would go on a 9-2 run to build a 63-43 lead with 3:32 to play and close out the game.

4 - CCSU, which entered the game second in the NEC in three-point shooting, was held to a season-low 4-of-23 shooting from three-point range.

- Central now leads the all-time series, 7-5.
- Scantlebury was 3-of-6 from three-point range and has scored in double-figures in five straight games. He added a team-high five rebounds and four assists.
- Junior Ian Krishnan finished with eight points.
- Central was held to its fewest points since a 62-46 setback at Merrimack on Feb. 11, 2021.
- The Blue Devils had a +1 (12-11) turnover advantage and has now committed fewer than 16 turnovers in the past eight games.
