Jay Rodgers Joins Men's Basketball Program
Central Connecticut head men's basketball coach Patrick Sellers has announced the addition of Jay Rodgers to the program for the 2022-23 season. Rodgers becomes the second Blue Devils newcomer to be announced for the upcoming season.
Rodgers is a 6-foot-3 guard from Pickerington, OH. He most recently attended Cochise College after transferring from the University of New Orleans. He earned NJCAA Region I honorable mention All-America honors in 2022 after helping the Apaches to a 29-4 record. Rodgers posted 17.8 points per game, 2.3 rebounds per game and 3.2 assists per game, while shooting .472 from the field and .401 from three-point range. Rodgers also earned First Team All Arizona Community College Athletic Conference honors
"Jay is a strong addition for our program and we are excited to have him join the Central Connecticut basketball family," said Sellers. "He is an athletic, skilled guard who will have the chance to contribute immediately. We can't wait for Jay to get to work with our program and help us to reach the goals we have for Central Connecticut."
