Men's Basketball Slips to St. Francis Brooklyn
The Central Connecticut men's basketball was unable to find momentum against St. Francis Brooklyn, falling 67-50 in Northeast Conference men's basketball action on Saturday at Detrick Gymnasium. The Blue Devils trailed throughout the game as the Terriers prevented Central from winning its third straight.
Junior Nigel Scantlebury scored a team-high 18 points for CCSU and senior Stephane Ayangma had 10 points. Central shot 14-of-46 (.304) overall and was 5-of-20 (.250) on three-pointers. The Blue Devils went 17-of-26 (.654) at the foul line.
Larry Moreno led the Terriers with a game-high 23 points. St. Francis Brooklyn shot 25-of-59 (.424) overall and 9-of-18 (.500) from three-point range. SFBK was 8-of-10 (.800) from the foul line.

KEY MOMENTS
- The Terriers scored the opening five points of the game and limited Central to just one field goal in the opening five-plus minutes. Central was within 19-16 with 6:05 to play in the opening half after a Scantlebury three-pointer, but St. Francis would outscore CCSU, 20-4 to close out the half. The Terriers closed the period with 15 unanswered points and a three-point play by Moreno and a athree-pointer by Rob Higgins in the final 1:04 helped make it 39-20 at the intermission.
- Freshman Jayden Brown scored a layup to open the second half scoring, but Central would be held scoreless for 5:30 as the Terriers extended its lead to 48-22. A Moreno trey gave SFBK its largest lead of the day at 53-26. CCSU would get no closer than 65-48 with 3:34 remaining.
