Men's Basketball Slumps in Second Half at Brown
The Central Connecticut men's basketball held a lead in the second half against Brown on Sunday at the Pizzitola Center before a run midway through the period carried the home squad to a 75-57 win. The Blue Devils led 40-38 with 13:21 remaining, but the Bears would limit Central to four points over a nine-minute span to gain control of the contest.
Senior Stephane Ayangma scored a team-high 14 points with five rebounds off the bench to lead CCSU, while junior Ian Krishnan added 13 points and had three three-pointers. The Blue Devils shot 42.6 percent (23-of-54) from the field and 9-of-20 (.450) from three-point range.
The Bears were led by Kino Lilly, Jr. who scored 22 points off the bench to pace three double-figures scorers. Brown shot 49.1 percent (26-of-53) overall and 11-of-23 (.478) from the arc.

KEY MOMENTS
- Central jumped out in from from the tip, leading for much of the first half. Krishnan gave CCSU its largest lead of the half with a jumper to make it 12-4 with 13:04 left in the period.
- Brown took its first lead of the day with back to back treys late in the period. Kimo Ferrari made it 28-25 in favor of Brown with under a minute to play in the opening half. Central would get within 28-27 at the break after a layup by Ayangma just before the horn.
- CCSU raced out of the lockerroom in the second half, scoring the first eight points. Krishnan and junior Tre Mitchell sandwiched three pointers around a layup by sophomore Arian Dehnavi to make it 35-28 with 17:24 to play.
- Central took its largest lead of the half at 40-32 after a trifecta by junior Nigel Scantlebury with 14:18 to play.
- Brown would outscore CCSU, 43-17, the rest of the way, which included a 32-4 run. The Blue Devils had just one field goal during a nearly 10-minute stretch, while Lilly led the Bears' charge with 19 of his points coming after the break.
