Men's Basketball Bottled Up by LIU, 83-61
The Central Connecticut men's basketball dropped its second straight Northeast Conference game, falling at LIU, 83-61, Saturday at the Steinberg Wellness Center. The Blue Devils held the Sharks without a field goal for almost the first seven minutes before the hosts answered with a 21-0 run to take control of the contest.
Freshman Andre Snoddy had a career-high 18 points, allong with 10 rebounds, four assists and two blocked shots to lead the Blue Devils in each category. Junior Ian Krishnan was the only other Blue Devil in double-figures with 18 points. Central shot 22-of-59 (.373) overall and went 10-of-29 (.345) on three-pointers. The Blue Devils shot 7-of-10 (.700) at the foul line.
Ty Flowers scored a game-high 30 points to lead three Sharks in double-figures. He added seven rebounds and seven assists. LIU shot 30-of-66 (.455) overall and 12-of-29 (.414) from three-point range. LIU was 11-of-13 (.846) at the foul stripe.

KEY MOMENTS
- The Blue Devils raced out to a 12-1 lead as the Sharks missed their first nine shots and did not have a field goal in the opening six-plus minutes. Krishnan hit a pair of three-pointers in the opening span to lead the Blue Devils offense.
- LIU would come back with 21 unanswered points over a 7:23 span. CCSU went just 1-of-12 shooting from the field in that span as the Sharks built a 22-12 lead. Alex Rivera sparked the LIU spurt, hitting three three-pointers during the run. The LIU advantage would grow to as much as 13 before going into halftime with a 39-27 lead at the intermission after Ty Flowers hit a three-pointer at the buzzer.
- Central opened the second half shooting just 1-of-11 from the field as LIU would build a 53-32 lead in the contest. Central would cut the deficit to 13 before LIU closed the game on an 11-2 run to settle the final margin.

6 - The Blue Devils used just seven players in the game with all of them playing at least 19 minutes. Six players logged more than 20 minutes in the game.
NOTES
- The Sharks lead the all-time series, 30-21, and have won eight straight matchups in the series.
- Snoddy hit his first five shots. He collected 10 rebounds, his eighth straight game collecting five or more. His double-double was the second by a Blue Devil this season.
- Krishnan now has 939 career points and 173 career three-pointers, which ranks third and second among active NEC players, respectively. He ranks 8th on the CCSU career three-pointer chart.
- Freshman Trenton McLaughlin was 3-for-3 on three-pointers. In his last seven games he has shot 10-of-17 (.588) from the arc.
