
Four Earn CSC Academic All-District
Bacon, Cassidy Stotler, Kelly Stotler and Wroblewski honored for academic and athletic success
Four members of the Central Connecticut State swimming and diving team were recognized as members of the CSC Academic All-District Teams. Abby Bacon, Cassidy Stotler, Kelly Stotler, and Gabi Wroblewski were recognized for their success in the classroom and the pool.
Student-athletes must have an undergraduate GPA of 3.50 and must be at least a sophomore both academically and athletically. Swimmers need to compete in four competitions during the year or have a top-eight finish at a conference championship meet.
Bacon, who is working towards her MBA, swam in the championship final in all of her individual events at the NEC Championship, placing seventh in the 200 breaststroke and eighth in the 100 breaststroke and 400 individual medley.
Cassidy Stotler, a computer science (honors) major, earned silver in the 100 butterfly, fourth in the 100 breaststroke, and eighth in the 200 breaststroke at the league championship meet.
Kelly Stotler, a nursing major, had three top-10 individual performances at the NEC Championship, finishing fifth in the 100 free, eighth in the 200 free, and ninth in the 50 freestyle.
Wroblewski, majoring in interdisciplinary science, earned the top spot in the 400 IM at the NEC Championship and earned silver in the 200 butterfly.
Academic All-District® honorees were considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. Student-athletes selected as CSC Academic All-America® finalists are denoted with an asterisk and will advance to the national ballot to be voted on by CSC members.
