
Divers Make Season Debut At Fairfield Invitational
Baker led the evenings effort with a third-place finish on the 1-meter.
The Central Connecticut State divers opened their season Friday night at the Fairfield Invitational in Fairfield, CT. Zoe Baker was the Blue Devils top point scorer on Saturday, combining for 393.30 points.
1-meter
- Baker took third on the low board, scoring 199.75
- Rookie Kaitlyn Carroll was fifth overall, with a 194.64 effort in her first collegiate event
- Jewelle Maziarz tallied 171.35 points to finish in 12th place
- Rachel Giroux (13th), Olivia Coddington (16th) and Ali Albanese (17th) made their collegiate debuts on the low board
3-meter
- Maziarz was the teams top finisher on the high-board finishing fourth wih 193.95
- Baker was just .4 points behind her teammate, in fifth place, at 193.55
- Carroll recorded 184.95 points, good for eighth-place
- Giroux captured 13th on the high board as well, with Albanese placing 16th and Coddington 17th
The second day of the Fairfield Invitational will be the swimming events and will begin at 11:30 at Fairfield University.
