
Swimming & Diving Picked To Repeat As NEC Champions
The Blue Devils were the unanimous pick to win the 2024 NEC Championship in a poll of the leagues head coaches.
The Central Connecticut State swimming and diving team has been tabbed do defend their Northeast Conference swimming and diving championship. The Blue Devils were the unanimous pick of the NEC head coaches to win the 2024 crown.
CCSU won its seventh NEC title in 2023, behind a strong team effort that was highlighted by rookie Jewelle Maziarz earning Outstanding Diver accolades.
The Blue Devils hit the water for the firs time last week, at the Block Cancer Open Water Festival. Six Blue Devils earned CSCAA Open Water National Championship qualifying standards.
Wagner was voted as the team to finish behind the Blue Devils, after their runner up finish in 2023. Howard was tabbed to repeat in third place, and were followed by LIU in the fourth spot, with Saint Francis U, Sacred Heart, Merrimack, Stonehill and newcomer LeMoyne rounding out the voting.
CCSU returns to action October 6-7 at the Fairfield Invitational. The divers will hit the board on Friday evening and the swimming events will take place on Saturday. The Blue Devils home opener is October 21st versus Stony Brook at 2:00 pm.
