
Maziarz, Milhomens Earn NEC Weekly Swimming and Diving Awards
Maziarz earned Diver of the Week, while Milhomens was named Rookie of the Week.
The Central Connecticut University swimming and diving team was well represented in the weekly Northeast Conference awards. Jewelle Maziarz was named the conferences Diver of the Week, while Sophie Milhomens earned Rookie of the Week honors. The duo was joined in the prime performer ranks by Abbey Keane.
Maziarz won the 3-meter diving in the dual meet at New Hampshire, totaling 253.20 points. She had finished third on the 1-meter board the night before, racking up 230.48.
Milhomens posted the sixth fastest 400 IM in the conference this season, swimming a time of 4:46.97. She also put up the seventh fastest 200-fly time of the year within the NEC, touching at 2:12.78.
Keane won the 1,000-freestyle on Friday night, touching at 10:32.32. She has posted the top-two times in the league this season in that event. She then put forth a season-best 5:12.67 in the 500-freestyle on Saturday, the third-best time in the NEC.
The Blue Devils travel to Southern Connecticut on Saturday for a double dual with the Owls and Wagner.
