Blue Devils and Panthers to play three this weekend
The Central Connecticut baseball team heads to High Point University this weekend for a three-game series beginning on Friday afternoon at 4 p.m. The Blue Devils are 4-4 overall on the year, after dropping their home opener to UConn, 8-5, on Wednesday afternoon.
Junior center fielder J.P. Sportman drove in four in the loss, including a two-run homer in the eighth inning. He now has eight RBI on the season. Senior Tyler McIntyre also hit his first home run of the season in the game, giving him 10 RBI through eight games. He leads the team with a .471 average this season.
Central and High Point will play three nine-inning games on the weekend, starting Friday at 4 p.m. They will also play single games on Saturday at 2 p.m., and Sunday at 1 p.m.
