McIntyre Begins Professional Career
Former All-NEC First Baseman is Playing in Rio Grande Valley
Former CCSU All-Conference first baseman Tyler McIntyre has signed to play for the Rio Grande Valley White Wings of the United Baseball League. McIntyre made his professional debut on Sunday night.
Following his senior season in 2013, McIntyre was an All-Conference pick for the second time. He was a First Team selection as a junior in 2012. He finished the year with a .324 average and five home runs and a team-high 40 RBI. He was tied for fifth in the league in RBI.
He finished his three seasons with the Blue Devils with 17 career home runs, good for a tie for ninth in school history. He drove in 91 runs in three seasons with the Blue Devils.
McIntyre made his debut on Sunday night, going 2-for-3 wih a walk and a run scored, in a 7-4 loss by the White Wings.
