Roufs Named NEC Defensive Player of the Week
Central Connecticut junior Isabelle Roufs was named Northeast Conference Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week it was announced Tuesday by the league office. Roufs enjoyed a strong opening weekend for the Blue Devils, leading the team in blocks in three matches.
Roufs made her presence felt at the net at the Iona Tournament to open the season. The junior outside hitter racked up 17 blocks, including eight against the Gaels, for an average of 1.7 per set. She added 1.4 kills per set and three digs on the weekend. The Winsted, MN native led CCSU last season with 1.07 blocks/set.
Central hosts the CCSU Invitational on Friday and Saturday. The Blue Devils open the weekend against Binghamton on Sept. 2 at 4:00 p.m.
