The Central Connecticut volleyball team lost to Saint Francis U, 3-0, on Friday night in Northeast Conference play in New Britain, CT. The Red Flash clinched a spot in the NEC Tournament with the win, while eliminating the Blue Devils from contention.

CCSU will conclude the regular season on Saturday night with a match against FDU at 6:00 p.m.

KEY MOMENTS
- Central would take an early two-point lead in the opening set before SFU would get even and the teams would trade points back-and-forth until the match was tied 12-12 following a kill by Lauren Milani. CCSU would go ahead 14-12 following consecutive attack errors by the Red Flash, but after a timeout, SFU tied the score again. The Red Flash would open a 19-15 lead following five straight points. CCSU would fight back to tie the set at 19-all before SFU took control with three straight points and later won the set, 25-21, following a kill.
- CCSU took another early lead in the second set following four straight points. A kill by Nyjha Marcelin opened the streak and a skip set by Tori Boulay fell to put CCSU ahead, 7-3. The Red Flash would rally and eventually draw level at 12-12. The set was tied at 19-19 following a kill by Weronika Poczynek, but SFU would follow with four straight points to pull ahead, 23-19, enroute to going ahead in the match by two sets.
- The Red Flash did not trail in the third set and would score four straight points midway through the set to build a six-point cushion. CCSU was unable to get closer the rest of the way as the Red Flash pushed the lead to as much as nine before closing out the match.
NUMBER TO KNOW
9 - Marcelin led CCSU with nine kills as the Blue Devils did not have anyone register double-figure kills.
NOTES
- SFU swept the season series and has won three straight in the series. CCSU had won 10 straight before the three most recent matchups.
- Isabelle Roufs had seven kills and hit .429. She added six blocks for the Blue Devils.
- Lauren Milani added seven kills, 11 digs and five blocks.
- Tori Boulay had 18 assists and eight digs.
