Track and Field Opens Indoor Season
Inthasit placed eighth in the 60m dash
The Central Connecticut State track and field team opened the indoor season with a record-setting day at the Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener, hosted by Boston University.
The Blue Devils set school records in the 400m dash and the 3000m run.
The indoor track and field teams return to action Friday, January 3rd at the Wagner Invitational in Staten Island, NY.
60m Dash
- Tristan Burke finished sixth in the men's race, running 6.98 in the final, after clocking a 6.96 in prelims
- Nuchwara Inthasit earned a berth in the finals with a run of 7.97, and finished eighth in finals, running the same time
- Ryan Newberry ran 7.28 in prelims for the men
400m Dash
- Noah Colangelo set the first school record, running 48.30 to finish second in the field
- Jamal Fruster set the former mark, 48.31 in 2014
- Kymoy Phillip was 8th overall, the second Blue Devil, clocking 49.73
- Maxwell Czarnecki was 10th at 50.13 and Jonathan Orlando placed 14th in a time of 51.24
3000m
- Diaz stopped the clock with a run of 8:12.38, lowering the mark set last season by teammate Sam Whittaker by 0.68 seconds
- Whittaker also ran, finishing in a time of 8:25.21
