
Throwers Win Women's Title At Bryant Throws
Blue Devils defeated host Bryant by 16 points
The Central Connecticut State throwers totalled 39 points at the Bryant Throws event, to win the women's team competition. The Blue Devils were 16 points in front of runner-up and host Bryant and 17 points in front of third-place Merrimack.
The Blue Devils indoor track and field team is back in action on Sunday when they travel to the UMass Invitational at the New Balance Center in Boston, MA.
RESULTS
- Wenesha Stewart captured the shot put event, with a throw of 12.63m on her opening throw of the competition
- Marina Perry finished as the runner-up in the shot, throwing 11.98m
- Stewart also picked up the top spot in the discus, throwing 37.94m, again on her opening effort of the event
- Payton Lowe captured sixth place in the discus, with a throw of 33.72m
- Perry earned third place in the weight throw, with a 14.39, throw in the fifth round
