
Cancellieri Gold Paces Women's Track & Field On Final Day Of NEC Championships
Blue Devils finished fifth in the team standings
The Central Connecticut State women's track and field team finished fifth at the 2025 Northeast Conference Indoor Track and Field Championship, accumulating 79 points.
The Blue Devils are next in action on March 2nd at the Last Chance NCAA Qualifier hosted by Boston University
- Juliana Cancellieri won gold in the 5000m on Monday, taking the lead at the 3,200m mark and pulling away to win by nearly seven seconds, with a time of 17:10.11
- Wenesha Stewart took bronze in the shot put on Sunday, throwing 12.90m as one of three Blue Devils to finish in the top eight
- Mya Morabito, Kaylee Gravel, Rachel Bartolucci and Maegan Desmarais took bronze in the DMR, running 12:15.94
- Marina Perry finished fifth in the shot put, with a 12.05m effort, while Sarah Ovesny placed eighth with a throw of 11.11m
- Alissa Hurd was the Blue Devils top finisher in the 60m hurldes, placing fifth with a run of 9.31, while Taina DeJesus and Shania McCall placed seventh and eighth respectively
- Desmarais was sixth in the mile, crossing at 5:08.19
- Bartolucci placed fifth in the 800m run on Monday, crossing at 2:19.60
- Gravel ran to fifth-place in the 500m, running 1:20.20
- Kayla Logan, Nuchwara Inthasit, Taina DeJesus and Alexandra Edwards captured fifth in the 4x400m relay, crossing at 4:05.02
- Rebecca Carusone placed seventh in the 5000 with a run of 18:07.73
- Logan placed eighth in the 400m dash, running 1:00.11
