Women's Track & Field Competes At URI Invitational
Cancellieri and Hurd both take third place finishes on Saturday
The Central Connecticut State women's indoor track and field team was in action at the URI Invitational on Saturday at Mackal Field House in Kingston, RI. The Blue Devils return to action next weekend at the Dr. Sander Invitational
- Juliana Cancellieri was the third collegiate finisher in the mile, moving up seven spots in the middle 800, to finish with a run of 5:12.42
- Alissa Hurd took third in the high jump, clearing 1.65m
- Marina Perry threw the shot put 12.59m in the opening round and it held up to finish fifth
- Mya Morabito was the sixth finisher in the 1000m, running a time of 3:00.87
- Isabella Jensen clocked a run of 11:10.97 in the 3000m to pick up eighth-place overall, seventh among collegiate runners
- Kyrah Smith finished ninth in the 400m, crossing the line at 1:03.75
- Erin Egan jumped 5.07m, twice, to finish 10th in the long jump
- Kayla Logan was the 10th finisher in the 200m, running 27.35
- Morabito (2:26.63), Kaylee Gravel (2:30.46), Meghan McPhee (2:33.84) and Racel Bartolucci (2:25.88) finished fifth in the 4x800m relay, stopping the clock at 9:56.80
- Kayla Logan (1:03.17), Alexandra Edwards (1:03.87), Smith (1 :06.51) and Taina DeJesus (1:04.41) placed 10th in the 4x400 relay with a time of 4:17.64
