
Women's Track & Field Wins Four Events At Wilton Wright
Blue Devils took the top spot in the 800m, javelin, steeple chase and 4x400 relay
The Central Connecticut State women's track and field team scored 131 points, second amongst the teams at the Wilton Wright Invitational at Southern Connecticut State University.
The Blue Devils swept the top four spots in the 800m, led by race winner Mya Morabito, who stopped the clock at 2:19.17. That highlighted four first place finishes on Saturday, including the steeple chase, javelin and 4x400 relay.
CCSU is back in action at the UConn Invitational, April 18-19th in Storrs, CT.
- Maya Marin won the javelin on Saturday, with a throw of 36.20m, and Lyndsey Gravel placed seventh with a 29.62m effort
- Isabelle Mondo won the 3000m steeplechase, with a winning time of 12:38.72, with Alexandria Klopfer second in a season-best 12:51.73
- The 4x400 relay of Nuchwara Inthasit, Taina DeJesus, Kaylee Logan and Alexandra Edwards
- Kaylee Gravel was second in the 800 (2:21.16), Rachel Bartolucci (2:27.10) was third and Oliwia Marecik (2:28.77) was fourth with a PB
- The Blue Devils placed four in the top-six in the discus throw, with Wenesha Stewart placing second with a throw of 39.30 and Marin third at 38.77m
- Payton Lowe placed fifth in the discus (36.55m) and Marina Perry (35.86) was sixth
- Stewart also placed second in the shot put, throwing 12.51m and Perry put up a season-best of 12.48m to place third
- Inthasit (26.42) edged out Kayla Logan (26.92) in the 200m dash, as the duo finished with silver and bronze, while Mimi Agwu as 10th in the field with a run of 28.73
- DeJesus ran to fourth place in the 400m with a run of 1:03.12 and Edwards was 10th in the 400, with a career-best 1:07.71
- Shania McCall ran 1:20.26 to earn fifth place in the 400m hurdles
- Lillian Tabellione placed seventh in the 5000m with a run of 20:21.09
- Stewart placed seventh in the hammer throw, with a 39.25m effort
- Jasmine Ogando ran a personal-best in the 100m hurdles, finishing ninth with a time of 16.37
