Women's Indoor Track & Field Tabbed As NEC Team To Beat
Blue Devils have won three straight NEC indoor championship
The three-time defending Northeast Conference Indoor Track & Field champion Central Connectict State women's team has been tabbed to complete the four-peat. The Blue Devils earned six first place votes in the preseason NEC Coaches Poll, announced Tuesday by the conference office.
Wagner was tabbed second, earning two first place votes, while Saint Francis was predicted to finish third. Stonehill earned a fourth place prediction, followed by LIU, FDU, Chicago State and Le Moyne.
The Blue Devils have won three straight indoor crowns, sharing the 2021 title, before winning the past two seasons in outright fashion. The team also won the 2024 cross country NEC Championship, its fifth title in recent seasons.
Central will return to action in the new year, competing at the Wagner Invitational on January 3rd at Ocean Breeze Park in Staten Island. That is the site of the 2025 NEC Championships, which will be held February 16-17th.
