
Women's Track & Field Competes At UMass Flagship Indoor Meet
Stewart takes second in shot put
The Central Connecticut State women's indoor track and field team had a strong showing at the UMass Flagship Indoor Invitational at the New Balance Center in Boston, MA on Sunday.
The Blue Devils are back in action on Saturday, Januar 18th at the URI Invitational in Kingston, RI.
- Wenesha Stewart placed second in the shot put, throwing 12.68m
- Stewart was fourth in the weight throw, with a throw of 15.47m
- Alissa Hurd jumped 1.55m in the high jump, good for fourth place, while Erin Egan cleared 1.45m to earn 10th place
- Marina Perry finished sixth in the weight throw, with a 14.60m effort
- Nuchwara Inthasit placed sixth in the finals of the 60m dash, crossing the line at 7.91
- Kayla Logan was the top finisher in the 400 for CCSU finishing fifth, running a time of 1:01.38, just in front of teammate Kyrah Smith who crossed at 1:01.79
- Juliana Cancellieri ran to an eighth place finish, sixth among collegiate runners, in the 3000m run, clocking a time of 10:05.74
- The Blue Devils 4x400 relay finished 10th, with the team of Alexandra Edwards, Shania McCall, Kaylee Gravel and Abbie Burgess running 4:14.89
- The 4x800 relay of Rachel Bartolucci, Meghan McPhee, Maegan Desmarais and Mya Morabito finished fourth with a run of 9:57.55
