
Women's Basketball to Host the Red Flash on Sunday Afternoon
The Central Connecticut State University women's basketball team will return home on Sunday to host Saint Francis University at 1:00pm. CCSU will be looking to improve their record to 15-36 against the Red Flash.
The Central Connecticut State University women's basketball team will return home on Sunday to host Saint Francis University at 1:00pm. The Blue Devils will be looking to improve their record to 15-36 against the Red Flash. Central's last win over SFU was in the 2021-22 season when they defeated the Red Flash 69-59 at home on January 21st.
- Forever Toppin was the leading scorer for CCSU against Saint Francis Brooklyn on Friday night. She had 17 points, followed by Lara Rohkohl with 12, and Dejah Jenkins with 11. Toppin also tallied three assists, two steals, and two rebounds.
- Lara Rohkohl achieved a double-double, leading the team in rebounding with 14 rebounds, 10 being offensive, and scoring 12 points. Rohkohl is third in the NEC with 7.2 rebounds per game and the Blue Devils lead the conference in offensive rebounds at 12.2 per game.
- CCSU had 22 offensive rebounds that led to 15 second-chance points.
- Jenkins 11 points proved to be her eighth double-digit scoring effort of the season and she is 9th in scoring in the NEC at 11.1 points per game. Jenkins also led the Blue Devils with 18 points against Stonehill on 1/2 and was named a Prime Performer for the week of 1/3.
- Two other Central players also scored in double figures against the Skyhawks. Rohkohl had 13 points and Belle Lanpher scored 12.
- Rohkohl led the Blue Devils against Boston College with 5 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 blocks. Jenkins scored 7 points and tallied one block and one assist.
- Lanpher led the Blue Devils against Providence with 15 points and Hartford with 16 points, a new season high.
- Along with Lanpher, three other Blue Devils scored in double figures against the Hawks. Kenefick had 14 points, and Rohkohl and Toppin each had 12 points.
