Head coach Kerri Reaves and the Central Connecticut women's basketball team announced its non-conference schedule for the 2022-23 season on Wednesday. CCSU will play 11 contests in preparation for the Northeast Conference portion of the schedule.
I am very excited moving into the 2022-23 season and the schedule that awaits our team. Our non-conference schedule is a combination of extremely talented programs, ranging from Power 5's to mid-majors. I think while we move through our non-conference opponents we will be more than prepared when we begin NEC play," said Reaves. "The NEC looks a bit different this year with the addition of Stonehill, but at the end of the day, it will be another competitive season for all involved. It's hard to believe that our first game is just sixty days away, it seems like the excitement builds every day."
Central will open the season with three road games. The Blue Devils play at UMass on Monday, November 7, in Amherst, MA, before visiting Hamden on Saturday, November 12 to play Quinnipiac. They will then travel to Newark, New Jersey on Saturday, November 19 to face NJIT.
The Blue Devils' home opener will be on Wednesday, November 23, against Saint Peter's. This will open a stretch of four straight home games for the Blue Devils. They will play Brown on Monday, November 28, UNH on Wednesday the 30th, and Bryant Saturday, December 3rd.
Central will be on the road again for their final stretch of non-conference games before league play begins. They will play four straight away match ups, starting with UMass Lowell on Wednesday, December 7th. CCSU will then play Providence on Saturday the 10th, Hartford Sunday the 18th, and Boston College on Wednesday the 21st.
The Northeast Conference announced the 16-game league slate in late August. CCSU will begin league play on Monday, January 2nd at home against Stonehill.
Women's Basketball games are free of charge for the 2022-23 season.
