Women's Track Completes ECACs
Junior Krisztina Dearborn led the Blue Devils with her seventh place performance in the 10,000m.
The Central Connecticut women's track and field team competed at the IC4A/ECAC Championships on May 10-12 in Princeton, NJ. Junior Krisztina Dearborn kicked off the competition on Friday finishing in seventh place of 30 competitors with her time of 36:16.79 in the 10,000m run.
Junior Elizabeth Eberhardt also competed on Friday. She turned in a 20th place performance with her time of 10:59.90 in the 3,000m steeplechase.
The Blue Devils qualified for ECAC competition in four events. In addition to Dearborn and Eberhardt's entries, Central fielded a 4x400m relay squad and sophomore high-jumper Ronea Saunders.
In the 4x400m relay on Saturday, Saunders, senior Rachel Dombroski, junior Shelby Tuttle and sophomore Chantelle Deer completed their turn on the track in 3:51.20, good for 22nd place in the preliminary round.
On Sunday, Saunders cleared a height of 1.71 to tie for ninth place out of 20 participants.
The Blue Devils will return to action May 23-25 at the NCAA Championships East-Preliminaries in Greensboro, NC.
