Saunders Named to All-NEC First Team
Sophomore Ronea Saunders racked up two NEC honors after her winning high jump performance at the NEC Championships.
Sophomore Ronea Saunders has picked up yet another Northeast Conference honor for the 2013 Indoor Track and Field season, the league announced Thursday night.
In addition to earning the Most Outstanding Field Performer of the NEC Championships, Saunders also nabbed a spot on the All-Conference First Team for her gold-medal performance in the high jump event. Saunders cleared 1.70 meters (5' 7") at the championship meet, three inches below her season high of 1.78 meters (5' 10").

During her sophomore campaign, Saunders has also earned two NEC Field Athlete of the Week awards on Jan. 22 and Feb. 5.
Following a successful 2013 indoor season, Saunders looks to continue her success in the outdoor season. Last year, she won the high jump competition at the outdoor NECs with 1.75 meters, a mark she has already surpassed this year.
Saunders and the rest of the Blue Devils are set to continue competition on Friday, Feb. 22 and Saturday, Feb. 23 at the New England Indoor Championships at Boston University in Boston, MA.
