Women's 4x400: 2x Broken Records
The women's 4x400 meter relay team bested its own CCSU record on Saturday.
The Central Connecticut women's track and field team competed Saturday at the 2013 IC4A/ECAC Championships in Boston, MA. The women's 4x400 meter relay team surpassed its previous CCSU record, crossing the finish line in 3:52.22.
The team, which consisted of sophomores Ronea Saunders and Chantelle Deer, senior Rachel Dombroski and junior Shelby Tuttle, finished 24th in the event, ousting its previous CCSU record time of 3:52.43.
Saunders also competed in the high jump event for the Blue Devils. She tied her career-best mark of 1.78 meters (5' 10") for fourth place overall in finals competition. The top three high jumpers tied Saunders with 1.78 meters however, in a jump-off, Saunders took fourth.
The Blue Devils completed the day in 17th of 27 teams. The top five teams were the University of Connecticut, George Mason, Harvard, Lafayette and Cornell.
