Dearborn Earns NEC Weekly Award
Junior Krisztina Dearborn was tabbed the NEC Track Performer of the Week for her ECAC qualifying performance this weekend.
Central Connecticut's Krisztina Dearborn earned her first NEC weekly award of the outdoor track and field season as the conference named her NEC Track Performer of the Week on Tuesday. She had an impressive weekend at the Bucknell Bison Outdoor Classic where she qualified for the 2013 Outdoor Track and Field ECAC Championships in the 10,000 meter run.
Dearborn finished the race in seventh place in the 35-runner field, crossing the finish line in 35:49.81 for a new personal collegiate-best time and shattering her own CCSU record in the event of 35:58.82 set last season.
Dearborn is picking up the outdoor season right where she left off after the NEC Indoor Championships where she bested her own personal record in the 5,000m for fifth place. This past indoor season, Dearborn broke two CCSU records, one in the 3,000m and one in the 5,000m.
