KC Machado and Jazmin Lasane Go Deep For CCSU
After dropping their season opener earlier in the day by a 7-0 score to UNC Wilmington, the CCSU softball team (0-2) closed out the opening day of the 2025 season with a tough, 7-6, walk-off to the host Buccaneers of Charleston Southern University. The Blue Devils got a pair of two-run homers in Friday's nightcap, one each from Kassandra (KC) Machado and Jazmin Lasane, plus a two-RBI single from Alina Varga in to the top of the seventh inning to tie the game at 6-6, but CSU (2-5) pushed across a run in the bottom of the seventh to claim the one-run victory.
