KC Machado Drives In The Games's Only Run And Liz Hamilton Fires A Five-Hit Shutout
Liz Hamilton fired a five-hit shutout and Kassandra (KC) Machado drove in the game's only run with a sixth inning double, as the CCSU softball team got back in the win column with a tight 1-0 Northeast Conference win at FDU on Sunday. With the win, the Blue Devils are now 13-21 overall and 8-4 in conference action, and with the loss, FDU moves to 17-16 overall and 9-3 in the NEC.

KEY MOMENTS FROM SUNDAY'S WIN:
- With the game scoreless into the top of the sixth inning, CCSU's Ashley Viesta led the frame off with a single. Pinch runner Kristina Bozek advanced to second on a groundout by Reagan Vunek, and she scored the game's only run when she crossed the plate on an RBI-double by Kassandra (KC) Machado.
- The Blue Devils finished with six hits on the day as Ashlyn Desaulniers, Abby Meehan, Grace Lawton and Ava Cino joined Viesta and Machado in the hit column.
- Liz Hamilton (8-4) was outstanding in the circle for Central pitching her fourth shutout of the season and eighth complete game. Hamilton blanked the Knights on just five singles with five strikeouts and three walks in her route going performance.
