
Baseball and Softball Set to Host Hot Stove Dinner
Registration for the 2025 Annual Hot Stove Dinner for the Central Connecticut baseball and softball programs is now open. The dinner will be held on January 25, 2025, ahead of the upcoming seasons for the Blue Devils squads. This year's event will include the honorable Erin Stewart, CCSU alum and Mayor of New Britain, as a featured speaker.

Alumni, family and friends of the programs are invited to come together for a night of reconnecting and showing support of the Blue Devils programs. Tickets for the Hot Stove Dinner are $80 and the evening will begin with an included cocktail hour reception from 5:00-6:30 p.m. followed by dinner. The evening will also include auctions, and raffle prizes.
A 2009 graduate of Central, Stewart is the 40th mayor of New Britain and was first elected in 2013 and has been reelected three times since. Mayor Stewart is the youngest mayor in the City's history and the only female mayor of New Britain to be elected to more than one term. Mayor Stewart, a former volunteer softball coach at New Britain High School, was given the Women's Leadership Award from the Connecticut Republican Party, Connecticut Magazine named her one of their "40 Under 40," and the New Britain City Journal named her their "Person of the Year." The Greater New Britain Arts Alliance has also awarded Mayor Stewart "Public Servant of the Year." Most recently, Hartford Magazine readers named her Best Politician in Connecticut in 2020.
