Men's Track & Field Picks Up Three Wins At UMass Flagship Indoor
Burke and Colangelo both took home victories for the Blue Devils
The Central Connecticut State men's indoor track and field team had a strong showing at the UMass Flagship Indoor Invitational at the New Balance Center in Boston, MA on Sunday.
The Blue Devils return to action on Saturday, January 18th at the URI Invitational in Kingston, RI.
- Tristan Burke (6.93) won the 60m dash, with rookie Stylz Mitchell fourth with a run of 7.03
- Noah Colangelo captured the top spot in the 200m dash, running 21.49 for the win
- Colangelo, KyMoy Phillip, Jayden Brown and Lucas Figueiredo combined to win the 4x400 relay, in a time of 3:15.38
- Samuel Whittaker finished fifth in the mile, clocking 4:08.82, and Yankarlos Diaz was right behind with a 4:09.58 run
- Figueiredo finished runner-up in the 400m with a time of 48.49 and Cole Robertson was ninth with a run of 50.84
- Mark Rodriguez ran 8:39.31 in the 3000m to finish sixth overall and fifth amongst collegiate runners
- Phillip placed seventh in the 500m with a time of 1:05.59, and Jayden Brown was 10th at 1:07.01
- Jacob Ireland ran to a seventh place showing in the 1000m, crossing the line at 2:28.77
- Greyson Golda threw 15.58m in the weight throw, good for a sixth place showing
- Aiden Budge, Tyler Safstrom, Whittaker and Ireland combined for a 7:52.97 run in the 4x800 relay, placing second
- Golda finished ninth in the shot put with a top throw of 12.89m
- Kyle Wimbish was ninth in the high jump, clearing 1.95m
