Men's Track & Field Has Strong Showing To Open 2025
Tristan Burke won the 60m and 200m dash at the Wagner Shootout
The Central Connecticut indoor track and field team opened the New Year on Friday at the Wagner Shootout. The event was hosted at Ocean Breeze Track Complex, the site of the 2025 NEC Indoor Track and Field Championships.
The Blue Devils return to action on Wednesday, when the throwers take part in the Bryant Throws in Rhode Island.
- Tristan Bruke won the 60m dash, running 6.85 in finals, nearly a tenth faster then his preliminary run
- Burke also won the 200m dash, with a run of 22.33
- Aidan Budge (1:58.12) and Samuel Whittaker (1:58.81) took the top two spots in the 800m
- The Blue Devils placed three in the top-six of the 400m, led by Noah Colangelo at 48.71, with Lucas Figuieredo thir dat 49.91 and Cole Robertson sixth at 52.59
- The 4x400 relay of Colangelo, Figuieredo, Max Czarnecki and Jonathan Orlando won with a time of 3:22.35
- Jayden Brown was fourth in the 500m with s run of 1:08.20
- Whittaker also placed fourth in the mile with a time of 4:17.86
- Michael Kraszewski was the Blue Devils top finisher in the 3000m with a run of 8:42.28 and was followed by Nick Fusco (8:43.02) and Mark Rodriguez (8:43.48) in fourth and fifth
- Kenny Agwu captured third in the 60m hurdles, clocking 8.49 in the finals
- Keith Townsend (1.90m) tied for second and Rashann Rankins (1.85,) was fourth in the high jump
- Tristan Smith earned bronze in the shot put with a throw of 14.54m, while Qunicy Davis (12.89) and Angelo Pisacreta (12.57) were fifth and sixth
- Davis placed fifth in the weight throw, throwing 15.80m, with Nicholas Xavier sixth at 14.70m
