Golda scores in both discus and hammer throw
The Central Connecticut State throws group had a strong showing on the first day of the Black and Gold Invite. The two-day event, hosted by Bryant University, concludes on Saturday.
- Greyson Golda finished fifth in the discus, throwing 45.31m
- Nicholas Xavier made his outdoor debut, throwing 41.56, a personal-best, in the discus, placing 15th
- Quincy Davis (38.64m) and Angelo Pisacreta, who threw a career-best, (38.51m) were 20th and 21st in the discus, while Tristan Smith threw 37.59m to place 24th
- Golda would also score points in the hammer throw, placing seventh with a throw of 54.50m
- Davis placed 18th in the hammer, throwing a personal-best48.05, one spot in front of Xavier, who finished 19th at 48.02
- Pisacreta threw 45.88 to earn 21st place, with a career-best and Smith finished 27th with a 42.69m effort
