Colangelo, Figueiredo Earn NEC Weekly Honors
Duo recognized for efforts in first two meets of 2025
Noah Colangelo, Track Athlete of the Week, and Lucas Figueiredo, Rookie of the Week, were honored as Indoor Track and Field weekly award winners by the Northeast Conference on Tuesday.
Colangelo won the 200m dash at the UMass Flagship Indoor Invitational on Sunday, running a time of 21.49. In the Blue Devils first meet of 2025, the Wagner Invite, he posted a 400m dash effort of 48.71, good for second place.
Figueiredo was second in the 400m dash at the UMass Flagship meet this week, running 48.49, just .08 seconds off the winning time. A week earlier at Wagner, he finished right behind Colangelo, with a 400m dash time of 49.91.
The duo teamed up as half of the Blue Devils 4x400 relay at the two meets, both of which captured the top spot. Colangelo led off both relays, splitting 49.884 at Wagner and 48.485 at the UMass meet. Figueiredo anchored the squad at the UMass meet, with a split of 48.598, after running the second leg at Wagner, 50.797.
The Blue Devils return to action on Saturday, January 18 at the URI Invitational in Kingston, RI.
