
Men's Track & Field Has Strong Showings At BU Terrier Classic
Blue Devil had five student-athletes finish in the top-nine of their events on Saturday.
The Central Connecticut State men's track and field team had five top-10 showings at the BU Terrier Classic on Saturday. The squad is action next weekend at Scarlet & White Invitational back at Boston University and the URI Coaches Classic. The 4x400 relay will be running at the 117th Millrose Games at the NYC Armory.
- Kyle Wimbish cleared 1.96m in the high jump, claiming fourth place
- Greyson Golda took seventh in the shot put with a throw of 15.41m, and finished 14th in the weight throw, with a throw of 15.25m
- Kenny Agwu ran 8.63 to capture seventh in the 60m hurdles finals
- Willie Elliott jumped 13.58m in the triple jump, finishing ninth
- Stylz Mitchell finished ninth in the finals of the 60m dash, with a time of 6.96 and was 30th in the open 200m race, with a run of 22.31
- Lucas Figueiredo ran 48.36 in the 400m dash to take 12th
- Jayden Brown placed 13th, 1:05.77, and KyMoy Phillip was 19th, at 1:06.26 in the 500m run
- Phillip, Figueiredo and Brown were joined by Aiden Budge in the 4x400 relay, running 3:16.92 to finish eighth
- In a field of 157 finishers, Ryan McCauley was the team's top performer, at 1:56.97, good for 61st
- James Sullivan (8:23.06) and Eddie Nicholas (8:27.18) both finished in the top 98 of the 3000m, in a field that saw 245 competitors start the race
- Mark Rodriguez was the squads top finisher in the 5000m, which had a field of 144 competitors, crossing the finish line in a time of 14:42.57
