
Men's Track & Field Have Showings At Two Events Saturday
Blue Devils post a pair of top-12 finishes on the track at Dr. Sander Scorcher, and win once at Wesleyan Invitational
The Central Connecticut State indoor track and field team had student-athletes at two events on Saturday. The Blue Devils had a pair of top-12 showings on the track at the second day of the Dr. Sander Scorcher, at the NYC Armory, and won a field event at the Wesleyan January Indoor Invitational.
- Tristan Smith threw 14.67m in his first attempt in the shot put and the mark held up to claim the event
- Smith finished 12th in the weight throw, at 13.34m
- Lucas Figueiredo was 24th in the seeded 200m. clocking 22.70
- KyMoy Phillip ran to an eight-place finish in the 200m, running 22.71 in the open
- James Sullivan finished 11th in the 5000m invitational run, clocking a time of 14:51.19
- Jacob Ireland was 20th in the mile, running 4:08.97
